If I buy this house (with cash-no mortgage), I may need a little more money to do some work on it. Is this possible? I know I wouldn’t qualify for a HELOC. What information does the bank want in order to loan?

Is it a sure thing if the loan is very miniscule compared to the house value?

Ive test driven the Honda S2000 & am in love but the cheapest 2nd hand ones ive seen are around £8-9k which is well out of my price range unless i get out a loan. But then i’d be stuck with a huge loan for at least 5yrs.
I know what the sensible answer is but the car is truely amazing. Would any of you advise me to get the car?
